The word represents the beginning of creation and everything in it. You do not need to practice these religions to chant the mantra OM. The symbol is often said at the beginning and end of yoga classes or other spiritual gatherings. It signifies the infinite nature of the universe and ultimate reality.

For my son and I, OM is our favorite mantra for stress relief. When we feel stress, anger, or anxiety, chanting Om helps dissipate these feelings. We close our eyes and chant the ancient sound together. Aligning our voices with A-U-M, creates a vibration that releases stress, and illuminates the son & mother bond. A bond that reassures we are connected and we are here for each other in this world and beyond. It's amazing.
