Our son nicknamed my recipe LAVA olives. He's not eating these, but loves to make them for us. We love these olives with cheese for appetizers, or served with other mezze or alongside dinner.
Olives are known to be high in antioxidants and are delicious alone, in a salad, sprinkled on home made pizza or eaten with cheese or nuts.
Enjoy them, they are spicy. Adjust the heat according to your preferred heat level.
Ingredients:
6 oz jar of pitted green olives
2 tbsp red chili flakes
1/2 tsp sweet paprika
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp harissa spice mix
Dash of black pepper
Dash of turmeric
Drizzle of olive oil to coat olives
Optional: 1 garlic clove finely chopped & and lightly sautéed
Directions:
Remove brine from olives
Pour olives into a medium bowl
Add chili flakes, sweet paprika, smoked paprika, harissa spice mix, black pepper, turmeric and drizzle in some olive oil to coat the olives, the spices start to stick to the olives
Add garlic if you wish
Ready to eat or even better the next day
